Dear Nipsey πŸ’™ 🏁,

March 31, 2019 was a day that started like any other and ended as one of the saddest days in recent memory. Hearing about this tragedy that befell you shook my world. You were coming off a career year in music and business. Victory Lap is a defining album, sheer testament to effort. You produced a body of work that captured your β€œambition to elevate” and your contagious energy.

However, everything away from music catapulted you out of that great rapper conversation into the realm of overall greatness. We can’t even capture all you’ve done. Attempting to end gun violence in your LA community. Partnering with David Gross to create Vector.90 which would have a space for inner city youth to get into STEM with the goal of diversify Silicon Valley. Transforming the aesthetic of your community with your Puma partnership and your part in Destination Crenshaw. And just the intentionality of every talk/interview bring to drop knowledge and gems. You were a rapper, a family man, an educator, a community activist and so much more. Thank you for inspiring me. Thank you for sparking our brains to change the world in the same vein Pac did for your generation.

Our newly minted and certified Neighborhood United nonprofit organization is an ode to you. Peace, King.

Sincerely, Husein Yatabarry & Mahamadou Hydara
